Hello everyone,
This is a quick message confirming that we are on for our regular
Wednesday night weekly meetup at AllCity Technology
<http://www.allcitytech.com/> [ map
<http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=206440798958045355858.0004b10cec759958ca307&msa=0>
]. Charles (FreedomNetwork, Power) and Nolan (Apps) are working at the
space this afternoon, so feel free to head over whenever. The formal
meetup is scheduled to begin at 6pm; last week we socialized until 7pm
waiting for additional folks to show; I'm going to push us towards a
6:30pm start tonight, so aim to make it by then.

I suggest we pony up for pizza from The Parlor
<http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-parlor-austin-2> this time, which will be
more expensive and perhaps less threatening to our GI tracts unless
y'all are up for the death BBQ sauce again ;) So bring some cash to
help out with food if you want to eat, and consider bringing drinks and
other snackage to share.

Suggested Non-Agenda follows, we'll play it by ear of course; chime in
on this thread with additions and corrections:

  * James Casey will give us an update on the status of the local
occupation and progress towards addressing perceived challenges.
  * Convo re: IT representation at GAs and scheduling to share the
responsibility. I feel we've gotten a little disconnected from the
happenings on the ground at CH. We need to exert greater presence
to continue building IT momentum while better guiding our
    prioritization and decision making.
  * Given Morlog's departure this week I'd like to open an opportunity
to discuss. John T, will you be able to attend tonight? I'd like
to hear how the livestream team is regrouping and how we can help.
The livestream is absolutely vital and must be supported.
  * I will give an update on my status & availability. In short, the
greater portion of my attention & energy must shift back towards
professional work. I'll outline the project I am heading up to
explain how it will directly support the movement. This is how I
can make my strongest and most lasting contribution, with
    development GO as of today.
  * Printers. We need to follow through on our commitment to supply the
welcome desk w/ a working printer.
  * Task Management System: where are we at?
  * Big Picture Convo. What have we learned from the raids & evictions
around the country in the past week? What do we need to do to be
    better prepared here in Austin?

Finally, a word for this mailing list's lurkers. I encourage all people
on this list (there are 50 members at the moment) to either show up
tonight or introduce yourself to the list with details about your
interest and areas of expertise. There are manifold reasons for lurking
on lists, but this team and list are focused on DOING THINGS to support
the local occupation. I want people here who are interested in
contributing and *transparent* about how they are doing so. If you are
looking for a way to plug in, state what you bring to the table so we
can help you become an effective, vital part of the team. If you are
confined to remote participation, there are just as many roles to fill
as there are AFK. In other words, it's time to put up or unsub
<http://foojutsu.org/mailman/listinfo/occupyaustin-it>. Make no
mistake: we need and want your help. Step up and engage.

See y'all in a few hours,
gf
